You're Invited to "Christmas Through the Years"! (Updated Nov. 28, 2011)

Step inside this National Historic Register home during the first weekend in December and enjoy a glimpse into the way Christmas was celebrated during colonial, antebellum, Victorian and 1950’s America. See firsthand how our holiday traditions evolved over the centuries into what we know today as Christmas. Tours will be ongoing Friday and Saturday between 10am-9pm and on Sunday from 10am-4pm.

After visiting with the living historians in each room, vote with donations for your favorite scene. Admission to the event is free. All proceeds go directly toward the preservation and restoration of Red Doe Plantation. The top three rooms will be back next year, and the fourth will be a surprise!

Make sure to stay or come back between 5-9pm on Friday and Saturday for good old-fashioned roasted marshmallows, hot cocoa and caroling around the bonfire out back. Bring your voices, instruments and friends and celebrate the season while helping to ensure many more Christmas’s through the years at Red Doe Plantation.

Don’t miss a chance to meet our very own “Santa Paws”. He’ll be hanging out next to the North Pole and will be glad to pass along all your Christmas wishes to Santa!

And photographer Faren Kilpatrick will be on-site to capture unique holiday memories with one-of-a kind photo opportunities. You pick the place, she’ll take the shot! A portion of the proceeds will go to Red Doe Plantation, Inc. Please visit www.fotosbyfaren.com for details.
